The IGAsorp bench-top moisture sorption system
from Hiden Analytical enables fast, fully-automated quantification
of the sorption characteristics both of water and organic vapours
for a diverse range of pharmaceutical product and packaging materials.
Sample properties are determined in a precisely controlled antistatic
environment, the integrated microbalance measuring vapour sorption with
resolution to O.l microgram. A complete suite of measurements is preprogrammable
through the temperature range 5°C to 85°C with humidities from
0% to 95% RH. A multifunction heater is employed for accelerated drying
and sample pre-treatment together with thermogravimetric analyses to
350°C.
The IGAsorp system is applied to application areas including
amorphous phase detection, diffusion and permeability studies, hydrate
analysis, the characterisation of excipients. Solid, liquid and powder
samples are all accommodated.
With a small footprint of just 0.25 sq. metres IGAsorp presents
a compact, cost-effective package offering state-of-the-art performance
with minimal operator timespend.
