Hiden Analytical introduce a new range of quadrupole
mass spectrometers specifically for molecular beam studies in high and
ultrahigh vacuum environments, the ionisation sources purpose-designed
to encompass applications from single non-aggressive gas beams to multiple
beam monitoring of condensable and reactive vapours. The water-cooled
shroud accessory is added to enable close positioning to high temperature
environments such as K-cell and E-beam evaporation sources and to heated
substrate platforms.
The 300 amu mass range suits many requirements, with
mass range options to 2500 amu available for specialised applications.
Typical applications include monitoring and control in deposition processes,
laser ablation and ionisation investigations, gas/solid surface interaction
studies, thermal desorption. The XBS version for molecular beam epitaxy
processes, for example, monitors and controls up to 8 beam sources simultaneously.
A custom engineering service is available to ensure optimum beam acceptance
positioning.
