Sputtered Neutral Mass Spectrometry is a quantitative technique using essentially the same instrumentation as SIMS. However, instead of detecting the secondary ions which are formed at the time of sputtering and whose number depend very strongly on the sample chemistry, SNMS detects the neutral fraction of the sputtered material. An electron impact ioniser, located in the entrance of the spectrometer, ionises sputtered neutral atoms with constant efficiency, thus overcoming the SIMS matrix effect.

The IG5C features a low power, high brightness, surface ionisation source coupled to a compact ion column, providing high performance in a small package. The gun is designed as a primary ion beam for all SIMS applications, dynamic, static and imaging.

The Hiden HPR40 Membrane Inlet Mass Spectrometer (MIMS) is a compact bench-top gas analysis system for quantitative analysis and monitoring of dissolved/evolved gases. The inlet probe uses a permeable membrane that allows small levels of the dissolved species to pass through it and onto the ion source of a precision quadrupole mass spectrometer.

Benefiting from a modular design, the 3F Series mass spectrometers are available with mass range options of 50, 300, 510, 1000 and 2500 AMU, and offered in four application specific configurations.

The EQP mass spectrometer combines an electrostatic sector energy analyser with a high performance quadrupole mass filter in an instrument designed for plasma diagnostics. The EQP can acquire the mass spectra and energy distributions of neutrals, radicals and ions (positive and negative). Trends in intensity can be plotted against time. Fast acquisition modes mean that transients and afterglows can be studied.
