10th Frontiers on Low Temperature Plasma Diagnostics workshop
The 10th FLTPD workshop was taken place at an historical
Conference center of Rulduc in Kerkade the Netherlands.
Interesting talks and poster presentations were an opportunity for the
new generation of plasma scientists to share and discuss the knowledge
of low temperature plasma diagnostics with the leading scientists of the field.
Different range of plasma diagnostics were presented to characterised the
plasma and between them mass spectrometry, with some interesting
results of negative ion surface production in hydrogen plasmas

Hiden Analytical were delighted to have the opportunity to visit MIT Lincoln Labs (@MITLL)
this week. Mike Grandinetti of IES Tech Sales (Hiden Analytical’s local representative),
and Mark Buckley from the Michigan Application Center were on-site Thursday to showcase
our range of precision quadrupole mass spectrometers – complemented by a live
demonstration of the QGA quantitative atmospheric pressure gas analysis system.
Staff members, many taking advantage of the “bring your child to work day”, kept Mike
and Mark busy throughout lunchtime - discussing quadrupole technology, putting the QGA
system through its paces and reviewing specific applications. It was a pleasure to meet
so many folks and wonderful to see their children’s enthusiasm. A very enjoyable and
rewarding afternoon.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all at MIT Lincoln Labs for their hospitality -
very much appreciated by Mike, Mark and all at Hiden Analytical. Thank you!

On 28th March, Hiden Isochema held an Opening Ceremony and Open Day
for its new purpose-built 15,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Warrington, England.
Over 90 colleagues and external guests attended the ceremony, which was led by
Councillor Terry O'Neill, the leader of Warrington Borough Council.
After cutting the ribbon, and speeches from both Councillor O'Neill
and Dr Mike Benham, Hiden Isochema's Managing Director, guests enjoyed a
buffet lunch and refreshments.

Hiden exhibited at the recent 62nd SIMB Industrial Microbiology conference in Washington,
DC. The conference is a discussion forum for advances in industrial applications of
microbiology and biotechnology, and a showcase of some of the new technology which
facilitates these advances. We showcased our QIC-Biostream MS system at the conference
and also carried out live demonstrations at the meeting. In one such demonstration we
monitored changes in off-gas composition as fruit ripened over the course of 2-days.
Hiden will be exhibiting at the 63rd SIMB Industrial Microbiology conference in
San Diego in 2013 and also at the RAFT X (Recent Advanced in Fermentation Technology)
conference in November 2013.
