The Hiden Analytical ExQ was installed at the University of Frankfurt in 2023, and it’s great to hear how the instrument is being used.. Researchers from the group ERPI, led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Döring at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (FRA-UAS), develop thermodynamical models for the energy- and resource-efficient design of adsorption systems. The group built a plant that can implement all possible process steps in industrial temperature swing and pressure swing adsorption systems on a lab scale. The ExQ is used for concentration measurement at the system outlet and is therefore the central measuring technology for recording breakthrough and desorption curves from which key parameters for characterizing the adsorption and desorption kinetics can be calculated.
The ExQ has been since been superseded by the QGA 2.0.
