Jim Melling recently visited the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) at the University of Queensland to install a QIC BioStream with 80-way Proteus valve.

The team at AIBN are working with the ARC Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology to design and construct novel biological systems that can convert biomass from agriculture or waste streams to biofuel, bioplastics and other high-value chemicals.

The 80-way Proteus valve allows real time feedback, from multi-fermenter ‘cell factories’, of cell health and productivity.
