Overview

Interest in biogas technology is growing rapidly. Biogas has the potential to provide renewable energy production. Biogas technology offers versatile controlled treatment of various organic materials, producing methane-rich biogas which can be utilised as renewable energy in various ways. The residual material, called the digestate, can also be recycled.

Biogas has many energy utilisations, depending on the nature of the biogas source and the local demand.

Generally, biogas can be used for heat production by direct combustion, electricity production by fuel cells or micro-turbines, combined heat and power (CHP) generation or as vehicle fuel.

Hiden gas analysers provide real time gas analysis of the critical species, including methane , carbon dioxide, hydrogen , hydrogen sulphide …. These species can be analysed both for on line multi-stream monitoring and for advanced research.

Applications include catalytic reforming, pyrolysis/biomass treatments, desulfurization of fuel gas and analysis of biofuels generated from multiple sources including algae.
